Improving recovery times by combining electronic vaulting with traditional server recovery

We believe Total Recovery is the only truly integrated solution on the market today.   When our vaulting service is directly linked into your recovery solution, should you be hit by disaster one phone call is all it takes to start the restore process immediately at a SunGard recovery centre.

Total Recovery combines the SunGard vaulting solution with a recovery solution to provide a fully managed solution which provides faster recovery times of complete servers. 

With vaulting, data is backed up using either dedicated communications links or via the internet. Data is stored on disk at the primary SunGard technology centre, allowing fast retrieval.  A copy is sent electronically to be stored on tape in a second, geographically separate technology centre for resilience.
Data can be restored within minutes back to the customer site or, in the event of a customer hardware failure or major disaster requiring a full system restore, SunGard staff will recover the entire system to equipment at one of our many recovery centres.  All of this can be done without the need for staff or data tapes to be transported to a recovery centre thus reducing the amount of time taken to recover the system.

The fully restored system can them be transported to the customer site or made available at a SunGard recovery centre for remote access. 

SunGard provides a fully managed and monitored service led from its Network Operations Centre (NOC).  Our support team is on hand around the clock to manage both the backup and restore process, ensuring continuity and availability of service.
