SunGard Availability Services Expert to Speak at InfoWorld's Virtualization Executive Forum

Wayne, Pa, September 20, 2007 — SunGard Availability Services today announced one of its leading experts on how to integrate virtualization technologies into information availability strategies, will present at InfoWorld’s Virtualization Executive Forum scheduled for September 24-25, 2007 at the Roosevelt Hotel, New York. N.Y.

Don Norbeck, director of product development for SunGard, will address “Leveraging Virtualization for Information Availability and Business Continuity,” on September 24 at 3:45 p.m. The session will examine how virtualization can help organizations meet shrinking recovery time objectives. It will also discuss the role virtualization-based infrastructure and services can play to simplify recovery, testing and production applications for companies striving for information availability at all times.

“Organizations today face a daunting challenge: they are under mounting pressure to keep systems and applications available at all times, while at the same time, recovery has never been more complicated because business and IT are so closely connected,” said Mr. Norbeck. “Virtualization – when combined with the understanding of how to keep people, systems and information working together – can help companies reduce recovery times and mitigate business risks.”

SunGard will also participate in two general sessions on September 25, 2007 - “VM Management and Monitoring,” from 1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m., and “Scaling Virtual Infrastructure,” from 3 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Both sessions will be moderated by Paul Venezia, senior contributing editor of InfoWorld. The first session will focus on monitoring and management tools of virtualization vendors; the second will address the considerations and caveats of scaling out a virtual environment.
