Over the course of his 15 year career with SunGard and Comdisco, Len Guddemi has worked closely with clients on their business continuity strategies, from more traditional recovery (such as tape-based back-up), to AdvancedRecovery solutions and Managed Services. Direct collaboration with an extensive customer base gives him a customer-focused perspective and intimate understanding of the issues that IT leaders face today.
As Vice President of Northeast Operations, Len oversees 13 facilities and more than 200 business continuity experts that in turn support the testing and implementation of customer’s information availability programs. He has also personally supported over 150 client recoveries, which includes such widely publicized events as the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, Hurricane Floyd, the 9/11 terrorist attack and the 8/14 blackout.
Len came to SunGard through the acquisition of Comdisco in 2001. Prior to Comdisco, he worked for IBM as an account representative supporting the healthcare vertical, and also spent some time as a business analyst for the company.
Len earned a B.A. in Marketing from St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, New York.
Commentary:
The business continuity industry continues to evolve with the rapid deployment of virtualization, and the continued pressure from C-level executives to maintain cost efficiencies, and in the same breath continue to reduce RTO and RPO requirements. Based on our collective expertise and experiences, SunGard’s mission is to pro-actively anticipate our customer’s unique needs, relying on our broad mix of information availability services to satisfy their specific requirements for availability and recovery. This holds true for both IT and end users, who rely on IT to do their daily jobs.
