Commentary:
“One-size-fits-all” is no longer acceptable when it comes to information availability and protection solutions today. End users have an almost insatiable need for information on a continuous basis – and to meet these growing demands, SunGard has unlocked the perfect combination of technology, processes and people. Information availability has evolved from tape-based back-up to replication, non-stop mirroring, disk-based back-up and more to support this continuous demand for availability of information. As a result, companies now have many more choices to fit their individual needs, which can also lead to more complexity and confusion about which solution makes the most sense. SunGard works side-by-side with customers every day to help them understand the benefits of implementing various information availability techniques, including matching levels of protection with the specific availability needs of each application.
