Mark joined the SunGard Availability Services executive management team in January 2005 as the result of the Inflow acquisition. Mark serves as Executive Vice President, Operations overseeing all facets of SunGard’s extensive North American $1 billion Traditional Recovery and Managed Services lines of businesses. In July 2002, Mark took the Inflow CFO position and led the financial and human resources operations of the company, including long-term planning and providing sources of capital to support operating and strategic needs. Prior to this role, Mark served as Inflow's Vice President of Finance and Business Operations where he led investor reporting, financial planning and strategic relationships/negotiations. In his first role at Inflow in October of 2000, as Vice President of Corporate Operations, Mark led all aspects of the build out and outfitting of Inflow’s data centers.
Prior to Inflow, Mark served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Colonel. In his last position, Mark was the principal personal advisor to the Under Secretary of the Air Force, who oversaw the $68 billion annual budget for programs supporting recruiting and training of nearly 700,000 personnel. Previously, Mark provided leadership and operational expertise at various command levels, initially as a tactical and training aircraft instructor pilot, academic instructor and flight examiner and later leading the development and acquisition of our nation’s most advanced aircraft and satellite systems.
Mark graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a bachelor's degree and earned two master's degrees in Management Science from the University of Dayton and in National Security Strategy/Information Warfare and Strategy from the National War College.
