We reimburse our team members for classes, seminars, off-site training, and other educational opportunities that work to grow your success at SunGard. In addition, we offer a company-wide Educational Assistance Plan that provides financial assistance to employees pursuing work-related educational courses or degree programs on an “after work hours” basis. SunGard will reimburse* employees who successfully complete pre-approved, work-related courses and degree programs, both undergraduate and graduate. Upon successful completion of the course (a grade of C or better), we reimburse an employee for 75% of the costs for tuition, books and applicable fees.

After joining the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), SunGard formed a Sustainable Work Group to ensure our company takes a leadership approach to sustainable topics. Efforts aimed at increasing environmental awareness was the first recommendation put into action. In addition to tagging e-mail signatures company-wide with our “Think Before You Print” reminder, we have implemented double-sided printing wherever feasible. SunGard has also begun working with its U.S. stationery vendor to purchase environmentally friendly paper through a printing facility that is not only certified by the Forest Steward Council and the Rain Forest Alliance, but which uses 100% wind energy certified by Green-e.

APEX
Underlying the huge role that service delivery and customer satisfaction play in our company’s success, SunGard rewards the best of the best through a program called APEX (Achieving Professional Excellence). Used to recognized performance in Operations and Global Services organizations, APEX includes both employees and managers. Nominations for exemplary performance are collected, tracked, administered, processed and distributed monthly and can be submitted via print or online.
Elite
SunGard Availability Services’ Elite program recognizes Finance & Administration (F&A) team members who consistently exceed expectations and help us to reach our goals. Providing an opportunity to acknowledge contributions and thank employees for a job well done, the Elite program focuses on notable individual or group projects and innovations as well as on Excellence, Leadership, Initiative, Teamwork and Going the Extra Mile.

Local Hero
This SunGard Availability Services quarterly recognition program spotlights employees who have made a difference in the sustainability of the workplace and inspired others. Featuring those who set a great example through their efforts to recycle, reduce and reuse - whether it’s smart use of paper, turning off lights in empty rooms, donating items to charity, creating ways to reduce work-related travel or making facility-wide changes - Local Hero award winners are nominated by their co-workers. In addition to receiving a reusable SunGard bag and mug, the company makes a $500 donation in the winner’s name to the Nature Conservancy.
